Great seafood and classic Greek cuisine are available at tavernas and restaurants around the island.
The largest choice for eating is in Skopelos Old Town where tavernas, cafes and a few bars line the harbour front. Most of the beaches also offer a number of tavernas.
For a special treat, dinner at one of the three waterfront tavernas at the small fishing port of Agnondas makes for a delightful evening to watch the sunset and sample an ouzo just a stone's throw from the water. In Skopelos Old Town is a delightful 'garden restaurant' offering more sophisticated cuisine in a beautiful setting.
Alternatively you can cook your own food at 39 Steps and, under the courtyard's vine, watch the lights come up gradually around the harbour.
Skopelos is a relatively quiet island, not renowned for major nightlife, but if a 'big night out' is what you are looking for, there are various bars - and even a couple of discos - around the island.
39 Steps' owner, Sofia, knows the tavernas well and would be more than happy to advise and recommend.
Forage for dinner!
A great interest of Sofia is foraging for herbs and other free-growing foods around the island. For a small fee she will be delighted to take you on a guided 'forage walk' and, back at 39 Steps, advise on how to use whatever has been collected in your cooking.
